How it works
- Open the app. It shows the YouTube channel of the Google account you are signed in with.
- Paste a Drive folder link, or a link to a single video, and load it. Subfolders can be included.
- Check the titles and choose whether each video is made for kids.
- Click upload. Each video goes to YouTube in 32 MB pieces, with progress for every file.
- Drive to YouTube directlyGoogle's servers move the video from Drive to YouTube. Your browser never handles the video itself, so a slow connection does not matter.
- Always privateEvery upload starts as a private video. You choose when, and whether, to publish it in YouTube Studio.
- Folders at a timeLoad a whole folder, with subfolders, up to 2,000 videos in one scan.
- Your channel, not someone else'sThe app uploads to the channel of whoever is signed in, so a team can share one copy and each person reaches only their own channel.
Set up once
Drive to YouTube Uploader is a Google Apps Script web app. You paste three files into a new Apps Script project, turn on the YouTube Data API, and deploy it to run as the person using it. A step-by-step checklist comes with the download.
Good to know
- Keep the tab open while uploads run. Opening the same queue in two tabs is blocked on purpose.
- YouTube's daily upload limits for your channel still apply.
- Unfinished upload jobs are cleaned up after 7 days.
